Sling & District Recreation Club is open every evening (except Mondays) and Sunday lunchtimes. The Club is a popular meeting place with a bar and meals available. Don’t be fooled by Lottery Prize letter

On the right is a scam letter received by a resident of Sling and passed to Bill Gayler, the Parish Councillor . Click on it to see a large version. The people sending the letter don't ask for money, just that you call them and tell them your bank details so that they can send a bank-to-bank transfer. No money arrives and when you call again they persuade you to give more and more bank details until they can take money from your account. Don't be fooled!

The Foresters’ Forest is a Heritage Lottery Funded Landscape Partnership Programme to raise awareness of what makes the Forest of Dean special in terms of its built, natural and cultural heritage. There is no charge for this and they operate on a voluntary basis.
