Conversation Partner Scheme- Volunteers needed!

The Conversation Partner Scheme has been set up by the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Department in Gloucestershire to assist in reducing the isolation of people in the community who have a communication problem following a stroke (called Aphasia). Volunteers undertake a short training course and are then paired up with a person with aphasia. Don’t be fooled by Lottery Prize letter

On the right is a scam letter received by a resident of Sling and passed to Bill Gayler, the Parish Councillor . Click on it to see a large version. The people sending the letter don't ask for money, just that you call them and tell them your bank details so that they can send a bank-to-bank transfer. No money arrives and when you call again they persuade you to give more and more bank details until they can take money from your account. Don't be fooled!

Help for Dogs Lost and Found

  Forest of Dean Dogs Lost and Found is a group that helps owners find their dogs when they go missing, and helps to reunite found dogs with their owners. There is no charge for this and they operate on a voluntary basis.
