Proposal to ban sheep from Bream

Residents and local businesses are invited to give their views on a proposed Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in the village of Bream. The PSPO would make it an offence for anyone to allow sheep to enter and remain within a designated area.  However, it will not bar sheep from passing through the area while moving from one area of grazing land to another.

Under the terms of the order, anyone found to be committing an offence would be fined up to £1,000. However, it is proposed to issue a Fixed Penalty Notice of £75 , as an alternative to prosecution.

People can give their views by completing an online questionnaire by visiting www.fdean.gov.uk/go/pspo from Wednesday 1 June. Paper copies of the questionnaire are also available from the Forest of Dean District Council Offices, High Street, Coleford or the West Dean Centre, High Street, Bream.

Completed questionnaires must be returned by 5pm on Wednesday 24 August. Further questions or additional feedback can be submitted by emailing pspo@fdean.gov.uk
